Stop motion magic with Google Street View

Square

Shot of Mt Everest Base Camp, Nepal from Google Street ViewI’m already a Street View fan.

Oh yes, sure, I’m well aware of the gripes and grumbles about privacy that can rise up when you publicly admit this.

But the fact is, it’s an incredible project. A historical mind-boggling undertaking that somehow manages to make the word a smaller and more magnificent place at the same time.

It’s one of those things that I have no idea how I lived without it before it came into being.

And I find the the many offshoots that creative types have made using it endlessly fascinating, entertaining, or informative. (Often all three.)

Now Teehan+Lax has added a fun new wrinkle with Google Street View Hyperlapse. Their nifty software has simplified the process of creating stop motion animations using all those endless Street View photos.

If you’re a coder type they have made the sourcecode available on Github here.

But for the rest of us here’s some eyecandy….a video created using the Hyperlink software.
