Cool freerunning illusions fool your peepers and delight your brain

freerunningillusionsKnow what’s cool? Illusions.

Know what else is cool? Freerunning.

Put them together (freeLUSIONing?) and you win the first place prize in the cool Olympics.

And that’s exactly what free runners Jason Paul and Pasha Petkuns have done in this fantastically mind-bending video presented by Red Bull.

In it they take Parkour to a surrealistic new level, using their incredible freerunning skills to fool the eye and delight the brain.

Cool moves warp reality

And each time you think you’ve got a handle on what you’re seeing they bend reality and everything is suddenly topsy-turvy again.

German-born Jason Paul first began free running back in 2005 at the tender age of 14 when a friend showed him a Parkour video. His life was never quite the same as the world suddenly became his own personal playground.

Since then Jason has progressed to a world-class level taking first place in Red Bull Art of Motion three times.

Pasha Petkuns, a member of the World Freerunning Parkour Federation, hails from Latvia. He first burst onto the scene in 2009 and has since scored four Red Bull Art of Motion titles, including two first-place finishes.

Monty Python fans there’s one very Phyton-esque moment in the video starting around 1:33.
