Someone ought to record this…

Square

Have you ever had that feeling when you are sitting and talking to someone that someone ought to be writing this down…someone ought to record this…that this story, these moments shouldn’t be lost to time?

I would have this thought when I was listening to my Nana tell one of her wonderful stories. And I often think about it now, both when I spend time with my nieces and nephews or with my parents.  I feel like an inept historian. I fear the loss of the stories and moments.

The StoryCorps organization is this wonderful non-profit with a goal that is both very simple and very huge at the same time. They want to provide Americans with an opportunity to record, share and preserve the stories of their lives. They are giving us a opportunity to safeguard a piece of our personal history.

In this sweet animation you meet Joshua and Sarah Littman. Joshua is 12 years old and has Asperger’s and he is interviewing his mom in his own wonderfully unique way.
