My awesome husband surprised me last night with tickets to the film “Queen: Live in Budapest.”
Back in July 1986 Queen performed for the first time in Népstadion in Budapest. It was the largest ever stadium concert and they packed the place with 80,000 adoring fans.
And thank goodness for the rest of us who were NOT there, a film crew there to document it. Freddie Mercury was a huge ball of sunshine spewing joy and positivity as he strutted all over that stage. There’s never been another like him since. And the band was superb.
Watching them up there on that huge screen I was struck by how much their bassist looked like someone else.
Don’t you agree that the young John Deacon from Queen bears a striking resemblance to the young Sean Penn?
