There’s this really extraordinary Swedish horror film called “Let the Right One In.” If you are at all a fan of the darker side of film and you haven’t seen it I highly recommend you give it a try.
It left a lasting impression on me. And save for a few minor quibbles I’d put it towards the top of my rather short list of horror films worth watching.
The atmosphere in this film is just incredible. Everything is mostly understated which is very rare and very nice. Not even a little whiff of Saw-the-movie-that-ruined-horror-films-forever here. And the two young actors that played the leads…Lina Leandersson and Kåre Hedebrant…are, in a word, fantastic.
Yes, really a fine movie.
So now here’s the trailer for the the surprise surprise Hollywood-ized remake that is on the horizon.
Why do they feel the need to scrape the very soul out of such a good thing. Why?
